Below is a listing of Armour/ing related books in my collection. I also have various books on Greek, Roman, Japanese and Viking arms and armour, but have not included them on this list yet. What I am after is for those of you "in the know" to review my list and suggest titles that would be good additions. As you can tell I am not focusing on any one period/culture but looking to dominate the world.

My first thought would be Museum Collection books, but am not sure which are worth getting.

Hi D.W.,

A very nice collection. One you might wish to consider, recently published, is Alan Williams "The Knight and the Blast Furnace", which examines a large sample of European armour, 14-16th centuries, for their metalurgic properties. There are hundreds of photos of extant pieces - many of which I have never seen before (and also many often published), and for the photos alone - never mind the information contained, it is well worth the $256 Ken Trottman is asking for it.

If you can lay hands on oit, Boccias 'Montova' is a must have. I didn't notice if you had the Philledelphia Museum of art's "Essays on Medieval and Renaissance Armour" (which has an essay in English by Boccia), that is very useful, and not too expensive.
