Greetings allMy wife and I were in Bavaria this last weekend, and we stopped by the Germanisches National Museum in Nuremburg - a very interesting place. I wanted to share photos of the great helm from a "knight of Kornburg" .
It's quite interesting for a number of reasons: everything above the eye-slit is raised from a single piece of iron; it is the only surviving helm (I know of) with a mail fringe; and it has a strange 17th C. paint job.
The photos show about every conceivable angle except for the interior (forgot my flashlight!). The display was very photo-conducive. The helm is in the corner of a glass case, so you can get more or less unobstructed views from all sides.
