Author Topic: New article on raising a helm Jacob New Member Member # 271 posted 01-20-2002 07:27 PM                   This was my first attempt at raising a helm. I took over 50 pictures along the way to document it. I used probably the minimal equipment to do it, but it worked. The finished helm is a tad heavy (probably 12-14ga skull) because I used what material I had sitting around. It's not totally done. I like the essay itself as well, very informative, and complete with references. I hope it encourages beginning armourers to take that step beyond the standard methodology used by most modern armourers. Keep up the good work. Go out of your way to look at exant examples, and always work on developing your eye for the three dimensional shape. -------------------- Bob R.
