Greetings, all!

I've been looking (in Trotman's listing) at Mann & Scalini's "The Armoury of the Castle of Churburg" as an addition to my library. They have it listed at 450 (pounds) but are selling it fo 375...roughly $532US at current exchange rate. Opinions on whether this is a good price or whether I should look other directions? If so, where? Any other feedback or info appreciated, too.

Best regards,

Bill

Hi Bill,

That book is an absolute must have if you want to know about Italian armour of the 14th & 15th centuries. Especially if it is the new reprint with the second volume that analyzes the armour and shows photographs from a bunch of different angles.

I am not an armourer, and I consider it a must have, and will eventually buy my own copy. Grab it whilst tha might.

Your unlikely to find the reprint for sale any cheaper then 375BP. A copy of the original (1930s) english edition in good or better condition will be much more money (~$1200) and won't come with the second volume that was added to the reprint. Also the exchange rate between the US dollar and British Pound is much more favorable to the U.S. now then when the reprint first came on the market. 375BP was about $620US when I bought my copy in June 2000.

Thanks, y'all!

I was definitely planning to get it (yeah, Bob, you're right - it's a 'must have'!)- just wondering whether this was the best time/price to do it. I'll be jumping on this opportunity.

Appreciate the input!
